Distributed Traffic Light Controller Using Life Data From Camera Sensor

Traffic jam has become a common daily event in Jakarta streets. This of course has raised the transportation cost and brought down the overall productivity of the citizens. In a few years it might bring the city to a halt. One of the main reasons for this traffic jam is the inability of the traffic light to adapt to the traffic load. In this project we propose a traffic controller that is adaptive to the traffic load. The life traffic data is obtained from several sensor cameras and the timing calculation is based on Kuramoto model. The system will be implemented on Beagle-boards open platform.
